Inc. Magazine Likes Us...They Really Like Us

CEDAR FALLS, IA -- August 23rd, 2011 -- In the ad agency world, there is no shortage of awards dished out on a year-to-year basis. However, there is only ONE Inc. 500|5000 list...and it just so happens that the folks over at Inc. think we're pretty special. So special...that they've ranked us as the 614th Fastest Growing Company in America!

Now, there's no doubt, we'd love to have been in the Top 10...5...or even #1, but for a little ol' company like ours we're extremely excited simply be included. In fact, according to Inc.'s list, we just so happened to rank second among all Iowa-based businesses that participated...a feather we are most certainly willing to place in our cap.

CTIA Tradeshow

The staff at EdgeCore is buzzing around the office preparing for the CTIA show! We’re putting together a coffee lounge at our booth for people to take a break and get to know us. This premiere tradeshow featuring wireless companies will give EdgeCore a chance to talk to agents and retailers about advertising and marketing.

As mobile devices become more and more high-tech, EdgeCore mixes traditional, technical and tangible ways of reaching consumers for wireless companies.

This is an exciting time for advertising and for new wireless devices.  The two together call for quick response and targeted messages.  And we’re good at it.

So taking a trip to Florida makes everyone excited to tell the EdgeCore story. 

The CTIA show is March 22-24 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center. EdgeCore will be in booth 1657.

follow the trails

EdgeCore is hitting the trails! We’re encouraging bike teams and clubs to ‘Come Cycle Cedar Falls’ through our latest campaign that utilizes social media for the Cedar Valley Trails. EdgeCore has designed a plan around Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.com that brings together fans of cycling, hiking and enjoying the trails.

One aspect of the campaign includes the production of a YouTube video series – “Liza’s CV Trails Adventures.” Fans of the trails can follow Liza around local restaurants, bars and bike shops to show off Cedar Falls. Find out what Liza’s up to next by visiting http://www.youtube.com/user/visitcf.

Q: Do you have a daily routine or ritual for your workflow?
I have a tendency to be hyperactive, so I usually try to keep a constant work flow throughout the day to distract me from the passing time.

Q: As a designer, what stresses you out the most?
Slow computers...

Q: What inspires you?

I feel a lot of my inspiration comes from the world around me and the imagination I view it with.

Q: How do you deal with failure?

If you failed at it the first time, you most likely won't fail at it the next time.

Q: What advice would you give to a designer just getting out of school?

Be as ambitious as you said you were going to be before you graduated.

Q: What work are you most proud of?

I'm always proud of something new, I'm most proud of the progress of my design skills.

Q: Where do you see print design 5 years from now?

I think print design will become more impressive as designers continue to progress and aspire to be what impresses them.

Q: Who’s your dream client? Why?

Small town local businesses. You seem to get more creative freedom and positive feedback from businesses that have less corporate restrictions.

EdgeCore is helping Casey’s General Stores make a splash this summer. Casey’s “In the Summertime” campaign brings together a fresh new logo, radio and televisions spots and free gas giveaways, to encourage their customers to take CGS along on every vacation, bike ride, picnic and trip to the lake. 
The campaign is an example of how the design of a new campaign can effectively compliment a well-established brand.  It’s Casey’s “In the Summertime”… but ALWAYS “It’s All Good.”
